XCR - What is it?
XCR stands for Cross Country and Road Racing. It is both a team and an individual competition. Teams are vying for the Premiership of their Division.

Age Groups: U14, U16, U18 U20, Open, 40+, 50+ Age Groups for both Men and Women and 60+ for Men.

Team Size: U14, U16, U18 U20, Open, 40+, 50+ have teams of three. If you only have two or even one you still score team points but less than full teams. The Open Age Group has several Divisions. Divisions have different numbers required to make up a team.

Events: There are 4 Relay XCR events and 6 individual XCR events. In the both the Relay and Individual events. Note. Women / Girls can run in the Men / Boys relays.

Promotion / Relegation: In Open Divisions the top two teams at the end of the season get promoted up to the next Division. The bottom two teams are relegated down a Division.

Entry

To enter an Individual XCR event, either get an XCR package which is a season ticket, or do an individual round entry before the closing date which is the midday the Wednesday prior. An XCR package automatically enters you for your default age group event. If you want to run in an older event you can do so but will need to do another entry to enter and pay for that event.

Relay Entries are done by the club. Mornington Peninsula Athletic Club pays the Relay entry fees. Athletes need to let us know you are available to run in a Relay and we will do our best to get you a spot in a team.

Venues: Some are metropolitan and some are country and require some travel.
