What is my Age Group?
The Athletic Year goes from 1st April to 31st March the following year.

This makes Age Groups a bit complicated.
  • AV Registration - Age Groups are taken from 31st December of the year you register.
  • XCR and Championships - Age Groups are taken from 31st December of the year of competition. Note. You might register in 2021 but compete in a Championship in 2022.
  • AVSL - because the AVSL season starts in one calendar year and finishes in another calendar year, the Age Groups are taken from 31st December of the year that AVSL season started in.

Note. This can mean that an athlete who was born in June of 2008 turns 13 in 2021 so is U14. So they compete and score the entire AVSL competition as U14. However, the Track & Field Season finishes in 2022. In 2022 this athlete turns 14 so they become U15 for the State Championships which are usually held in February or March.
