Round 2 Lardner Park 8 May 2010
Some pretty serious racing took place along the rolling hills, fences and ditches of Lardner Park. MPAC enjoyed the following results:
Senior Mens Teams
Division 2 (8km) - held on for 11th (second last). Despite the improvement from 12th place at Jells Park the previous Saturday, it was still only good enough for second last. Sterling performance once again from Mike Wheatley 30:24 to be the team's quickest. Mike was placed second in the 45-50 age group.
Division 6 (8km) - We're getting closer to fielding a Div 6 team. Only one short this time. Special mention to Scott McGill who ran his first AV run for the club.
Womens Team
Division 4 (4km) - Sue Clark carried the flag with a very respectable time of 16:27. (And got second in her age group)
Junior Teams
Again, some great performances from our junior runners:
Under 16 (3km) - Ben Kelly and the Rouse twins making up the U16A team ran 2nd out of 6 teams. Ben delivered 5th place in a time of 10:19. Jordan and Zach ran 7th and 8th respectively (10:43 and 10:46). The U16B's headed by Caleb Wheatley finished up 5th. Worth noting that MPAC was the only club to have two U16 mens teams.
Under 14 - Another sterling effort from Troy McGill to win the race in a time of 6:50. Kalen and Broden Bird ran 13th and 14th (7:35 and 7:36) to deliver 2nd place behind Geelong Region's team. Both Geelong and MPAC accumulated the same number of points (sum of the placings with the least points winning) however Geelong got the win. Not sure how that came about.
All in all, another good day for MPAC at AV. We look forward to some strong resluts at Sandown on the 29th May. (Well from everyone except the men's division 2 team...)
